| Facts: Easter Island, or Rapa Nui as it is sometimes called, is very remote being some 3600 kilomteres off the coast of Chile. The decline of the Easter island civilization is thought to be due to the inhabitants destruction of the ecosystem - deforesting the island in order to erect the moai. |
