| Facts: The photo shows star trails in the sky as well as car tail-light trails along the roadway. The Canada-France-Hawaii telescope (CFHT) is a joint facility of the National Research Council of Canada, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique of France, and the University of Hawaii. The telescope is located at the summit of Mauna Kea on the big Island of Hawaii at an elevation of 4200 meters. It is a 3.6 meter diameter optical/infrared telescope. The dome housing the telescope has a diameter of 33.5 metres. |
