Anglo-Australian Telescope and night sky

Caption : Composite image of the constellation Orion above the Anglo-Australian Telescope dome.
Facts: The Anglo-Australian Telescope is at an elevation of 1200 meters on the summit of the Siding Spring mountain. It is part of the Anglo-Australian Observatory which also operates the UK Schmidt Telescope, and is funded and run jointly by the United Kingdom and Australia. The constellation Orion takes it's name from the mythical Greek hunter Orion who claimed he could kill every wild animal on Earth. It is a large constellation and, being on the celestial equator, is visible from all parts of the planet.
