| Facts: Shipwrecked sailors used to use the trail to try to get back to civilization after their ships were sunk on the West Coast. The first West Coast Trail was constructed by the government and was known as "The Dominion Life Saving Trail". In 1973 the trail became part of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and today attracts thousands of hikers from all around the world. |
