| Caption: Wind turbines in California, near Mojave |
|
 |
| Facts: A group of wind turbines in the same location is often referred to as a “wind farm”. These farms use the turbines to convert wind energy into electricity with the turbines connected via a power collection system. Wind power is considered a renewable energy resource. However some scientists argue that not all renewable energy resources are really that “green”. Wind farms have aesthetic impact, as well as possible impact on migratory animals. Also, nearby residences are sometimes concerned with the issues of sound level and light flicker. |
