| Facts: Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located around Mount Assiniboine. The park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. The park does not have any access roads and can only be reached by a 27 kilometer hike or by helicopter. The park contains lakes, glaciers and alpine meadows. Mount Assiniboine itself is 11,844 feet/3,610 meters in elevation and is often referred to as Canada’s "Matterhorn". |
